Great Recession Creates Change In Shoe Buying Habits

home remedies

The Internet Age has created all sorts of amazin services. Now we are all more associated than ever thanks to social networks and handheld computers that do everything from a cell phone to a fart machine. Such technological progress has even created some less than worthy consequences, but well avoid that for now .
One area of life that has been largely untouched until recently was the shoe store. When you needed new shoes, you would go to your local store and make sure that the shoe fits before you buy it.
Enter the Great Recession and even that bulwark is beginning to change. With every store reducing stock to bare minimums it is getting harder and harder to ever try on a shoe at all. Even going to a mall with a numbernbsp; choices you may not be able to try on a shoe that is in your size, even if you have a common shoe size.
Retailers are only warehousing popular shoe sizes in popular models, but that is of course what sells the most, making it hard for retailers to keep up with demand. Playing the continual cat and mouse, they try to stock enough to sell products, but not too much that will end up being a liability.
So now customers are looking to their most trusted source, the Internet.
There are few industries left untouched by the Internet, and now that the flow has started , it looks like a flood gate has been opened on the shoe market.
More manufacturers are going the way of Nike, allowing customers to custom design a shoe and have it delivered to their home.
