Recreation–part of a good health plan
Fun. Is fun part of your health plan? Recreation--getting outdoors to do something other than yard work or to walk the dog, or having fun indoors with guests roasting marshmallows in the fireplace--this is what we work for, right...the leisure life we're all supposed to have more of due to technological advancements. Well, recreation is actually an important aspect of health. During times of recreation, we can get out of stress mode, build relationships with loved ones, learn something new and keep our minds sharp, exercise in a fun environment, and just enjoy being alive. Recreation doesn't mean zoning out--like watching tv. Rather it is being tuned in to the present to enjoy the scenery and people that make life colorful. In April and May I ran a 12k, went kayaking twice, went camping, visited art galleries, played board games, had guests over, blew bubbles in the yard, played ultimate frisbee, went rollerblading with the dog, and roasted marshmellows in the fireplace. Here are some pix from the last couple of months of recreation...So get out and recreate everyone!!!!!
